January 2020: What’s New with ShipWorks
Over the past few months we’ve made some exciting enhancements, though you may not have seen them yet because autoupdate was off for busy season. Many of these changes are centered around the client interface. We have been focusing on streamlining the interface and making some of the most-used features more accessible. We also took this opportunity to add more customization options to our Best Rate Tool, increased label printing performance and added more functionality to scan-based printing.
Here’s an overview of the major updates over the past few months:
Client interface changes:
When you update you will notice several changes to the client interface. This is a part of our push to simplify the navigation and enhance your experience.
We began in version 7.4 by standardizing the ShipWorks ribbon across all shipping views.
In 7.5, we simplified product catalog management and the packing/shipping workflow.
With 7.6, we gave scan-to-ship a facelift, including iconography to indicate whether orders are verified and shipped successfully. You’ll also see we removed “Shipping View” from the ShipWorks menu. What was once known as “Classic View” is now “Home”. What was once “Scan-to-Ship View” has been moved out and become a new tab.
Feature Enhancements:
Version 7.4 included configurable options for rate shopping amongst multiple shipping accounts within each shipping provider using our Best Rate Tool. Next month we added the functionality to automatically create a shipping label upon order download in 7.5. Version 7.6 also provided more choices. We added more fields for generic file mapping within the Generic File Store type. We also included the capabilitiy to run packing verification on other barcode IDs from the product catalog.
High-Volume Plan Feature Enhancements:
These are a few enhancements applicable only to our high-volume plans:
In 7.4 we introduced the capability to slit orders between multiple warehouses. We also added a connection from the ShipWorks Hub to Generic File-Based stores for intelligent routing of orders to specific warehouses to minimize costs and delivery times, while gaining meaningful insights into shipping costs and workforce productivity.
Store Connections
In version 7.6 we added connections to Rakuten, Overstock, and 3Dcart. We also added an option for our ChannelAdvisor customers. You can now download FBA order. eBay sellers will be happy to hear that they can now display the order number assigned by eBay.
Ready to get started? If you are already on version 6.3 or later of ShipWorks, you are on AutoUpdate, so just sit tight. Your clients will update themselves within the month. If you don’t want to wait or have an earlier version, you can download 7.6 from within the client software. Click on the notification message under the ribbon bar toward the top of the screen in ShipWorks. If you need help, please submit a ticket or call us at 800-952-7784. We’re more than happy to walk you through it.
